Fuqua School’s strategic plan captures the essence of the School’s mission: “To foster the development of boundless individual potential.” In a world characterized by unprecedented growth, complexity, and global interconnectedness, our unwavering commitment to that mission must include not only a rigorous liberal arts program but also a learning environment that promotes ethical behavior, critical and creative thinking, the flexible use of advanced technologies, an empathetic understanding of the global community, an ability work collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds, and a positive sense of self.
The development of our plan involved faculty, staff, Board members, and parents, as well as the insightful expertise of our outside consultant, Carol Brainard. By assessing where we are today and asking ourselves how we can best position our students for success in the future, we identified four strategic priorities that will frame the ongoing assessment and improvement of our programs and help ensure the long-term sustainability of the school:
- Empower students to take ownership of their personal growth and development to achieve their full potential.
- Prepare students to navigate and meet the challenges of the 21st century.
- Promote healthy home, school, and community environments through partnerships with parents and the broader community.
- Ensure the long-term sustainability of Fuqua School for future generations.
Our strategic plan serves as both a statement of shared vision for the future and a guide to lead us as we go forward, recognizing that programmatic change is essential to the health of any institution. While our goals are broad, we believe they are attainable and will inspire us as we develop our students’ boundless individual potential during this dynamic period in time.
