In an effort to encourage responsible citizenship, Fuqua School students are required to complete 40 hours of community service in the Upper School as a requirement for graduation. Participation in community service provides opportunities for students to become involved in the needs and concerns of others and acquaints them with organizations that work to meet those needs. A total of 15 of these hours may be performed for organizations on Fuqua's campus. Students who do more than 15 hours of service to the school will be part of the "Friends of Fuqua" club.
Students are required to complete 10 hours of community service during each year, grades 9-12. For students transferring into the Upper School, the number of community service hours required is determined by the number of years in attendance at Fuqua School. Students who perform more than 100 hours of service during their years in high school will be recognized at the Upper School Awards Assembly and at graduation.
