School Spelling Bee- Grades 4-8

Wednesday, January 16 @ 1:30 pm in Gilmer Gym
**Classroom Winners will be announced next week and parents will be notified.

 The Lower School SCA consists of students in grades 4 and 5 who want to help make our school the best it can be!

Mrs. Dara Tucker, Head of Lower and Middle School

Dara Tucker is serving in her fourth year as the Head of the Lower School, and her first year as the Head of the Middle School.  Mrs. Tucker had been a teacher in the multi-aged fourth and fifth grades at the lower school since 2013. 

Prior to coming to Fuqua School, Tucker taught second and third grade at Eureka Elementary School in Charlotte County, taught as an adjunct professor in the education department for Longwood University, and worked as an Education Specialist and the National Board Certification Coordinator for Virginia at the Virginia Department of Education.  She received a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Tech and holds a M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Longwood University. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher in early and middle childhood literacy.  

Originally from Virginia Beach, Tucker now resides in Keysville with her husband, Zach, and son, Dalton, who is in the 8th grade at Fuqua School.
