Six Students Particpated in 26th Annual Longwood Honors Band

On January 13 and 14, six Fuqua School students participated in the 26th Annual Longwood Honors Band. Hannah Cook, Emily Erickson, Candace Pembelton, Ireland Seagle and Ellie Vick performed in the Longwood Honors Concert Band. Eli Hall performed in the Longwood Honors Jazz Band. This event was hosted by Longwood University and conducted by Longwood professors Dr. Gordon Ring and Dr. Charlie Kinzer. This year marked the largest participation with fourteen high schools and 146 students taking part. To be selected for the event, students were nominated by their directors then selected by the conductors of the event. Students rehearsed on Thursday evening and throughout the day on Friday to perform a concert on Friday evening.
