Academics
The academic program at Fuqua School is designed to respond to the individual needs/interests of each student and is based upon the concept of "continuous-progress." Each child at the Lower and Middle School level is diagnosed in the areas of reading and mathematics to determine his/her appropriate instructional level and is allowed to advance at his/her own pace within pre-determined limits to that advancement. At the Upper School level, a wide range of courses is available based upon individual interests and performance levels, including advanced placement and dual enrollment options.
Fuqua School's comprehensive curriculum reflects rigorous academic standards and includes the Virginia Standards of Learning. It is frequently updated to respond to the changing needs of our student population and to ensure the inclusion of new skills and concepts.
