Academic Societies (Grades 9 - 12)
Academic Societies are designed to recognize academic excellence and strong interest in specific content areas: English, math, science social studies, Spanish, business, art, theater, and Applied Industrial Technology. In order to qualify, a student must have earned at least a 3.2 G.P.A. in the content area, an overall 2.0 G.P.A., and have committed no serious behavior violation (level III or higher) throughout the previous academic year nor behaved in a manner that resulted in behavior probation. Each society also has additional criteria. Membership in a society is by application at the beginning of an academic year. Once inducted, a student is not required to reapply in subsequent years.
