Welcome to Lower School and Middle School Guidance!
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! I am so thrilled to be a part of the Fuqua family as the Lower School/Middle School Counselor! Each week I will be teaching all classes PK3-5 a guidance lesson focused on our value of the month. I will also be running groups throughout the year on topics such as friendship and study skills as well as meeting individually with students.

April 19-22: Lower School ERB (CTP) Testing- Friday, April 23: Makeup Test Date

Interim Reports Emailed to Parents by 5 pm
May 2-4: VAIS 10-Year Accreditation Visit
May 3-7: Scholastic BOGO Book Fair (students and faculty only)
May 7: LS/MS First Friday Dress Down Day
May 10-14: Homecoming Week
May 14: PK-4 Grandparents' Day at 10 am (4 tickets per family)- Gilmer Field
Grade 5 will participate in that evening's Spring Concert
May 21: Yearbook Distribution Day
May 24: LS Field Day (Rain Date May 26)
May 25: LS Awards Ceremony at 9:30 am- Bell Tower (5th graders only- 2 adults per 5th grade student)
5th Grade Pool Party from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm
May 26: MS Awards Ceremony at 9:30 am- Bell Tower (8th graders only- 2 adults per 8th grade student)
8th grade pool party from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm
May 28: Last Day of Classes; Noon Dismissal; Dress Down Day
Careers and Job Interest:
Amy Rostan is the School Counselor at Fuqua's Lower and Middle School. She joined the staff in 2018. She graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Masters of Education in Counselor Education.
Before joining the Fuqua family, Amy was a school counselor with Henrico County Public Schools. Amy and her husband, Jason, have two children, Carter (6) and Cole (2).
