Central Virginia based musician, Tyler Gage, has been performing in the area for over a decade and teaching other musicians since 2012. Originally from Southern California, Mr. Gage started playing trumpet in fifth grade, after receiving his cousin's old trumpet. In high school he began performing with various ensembles and sat in VBODA District III's Symphonic Band each year. He attended the Longwood University School of Music, where he studied Trumpet Performance. Mr. Gage sat as principal of the Longwood University Wind Symphony and top Jazz Ensemble from his second semester on. He studied classical performance under George Tuckwiller III and Jazz Studies under Dr. Charlie Kinzer.

Currently, Mr. Gage is the Director of Bands at Fuqua School and is the founder and frontman of Audacity Brass Band. He is actively performing around the Central Virginia area and has played with groups like; Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Pops Band, Summer Garden Opera Co., Molnar Brass Ensemble, Commonwealth Choral, as well as numerous church ensembles. Mr. Gage also gives lessons, provides masterclasses, and works as a technician for schools preparing for marching season or concert assessment.
